Shades Of Niqab (Part 1)

Shades Of Niqab (Part 1)

I was recently asked to provide a couple of illustrations for an article on „Modern women wearing the Niqab“ in a literary magazine, and this has kept me busy for the last few weeks. To get away from Instagram favorites like „Niqabi woman with a mobile“ or „Veiled girls looking at lingerie store“ I made some drawings which were meant to be combined with stock photos of modern city skylines as the background – but the editor liked the sketched clouds – only meant as placeholders for the photos – so much he kept them. (So there was no representation of „modern“ in the end… isn’t that how it always turns out?)

Anyway, here are some examples.
